One additional note: New England Roofing Systems, Inc. is a "GAF Master Commercial Roofing Contractor." This means they are a "GAF certified installer." We did a lot of research before hiring a roofer and found out that the GAF certification is vital. GAF (probably the largest manufacturer of roof shingles in the U.S.) will only stand behind their lifetime shingles warranty IF the roof was installed by a GAF certified contractor. (My neighbor recently had a roof installed with GAF shingles and used another contractor that is not GAF certified. We called GAF and asked about that and they said he would not be covered under the lifetime shingles warranty. That's not good. (It makes sense though. Why would GAF stand behind their product if it was installed by a contractor who is not certified and may have miss-installed the roof shingles and its components.) I would caution anyone planning to have a roof replaced to make sure they use a GAF certified installer if they are going to have GAF shingles installed.
During the entire job (which only took about 5 hours to "rip and replace" the roof on our house and attached garage) our property was protected with huge tarps secured around the sides of the house. This prevented roofing materials and nails from coming in contact with the house, windows, garage, shrubs, lawn, etc. Any clean up that was needed was done constantly throughout the job.
We are really impressed by the professionalism of this company and all of their employees. They arrived on-time and got right to work. We could tell right away that we were dealing with competent professionals.
It's really interesting to watch these guys work. The crew obviously has a lot of experience. Not one of them took a break. They worked constantly and were extremely focused on getting the job done quickly and correctly.
